Opus 204

Polar Flux

Original title: I Ching Base tones with Inverses

This piece is an exploration of the polar opposite of my I Ching scale system. This system is now correct in its reflection of the Shau Yung circle. The inverse (+--+-- inv = -++-++) is now directly opposite and in order 1-33, 2-34 up to 64-31.

Musically I am recording this (July 2013) in it's micro-tonal version, which takes us slowly from the perfect fifth of 1-33 through many subtle micro-tuned tritones and back to the perfect fifth.

As I record this, I am put into a brain storm state, where new ideas flow through.

This will be released as a DVD music video with the changing colors of the tones and intervals.

This is complete and recorded in a equal tempered version, and is available on CD37

Eventually I will release a micro-tonal recording of this work.
